No Man’s Sky, the game that made promises as expansive as it’s universe, has just announced the latest major patch for their game, titled “Next.”
Teased at the end of March, No Man’s Sky shared their “Next” update, promising big things to come in the future of the game. Today, the developers at Hello Games announced they are taking the leap to Multiplayer, sharing in a live stream that players will now be able to group up with friends to build, survive, and relax within the massive universe. Sean Murray described the “Next” update as a culmination in the “potential that everyone’s always seen in No Man’s Sky.”
I was an early adopter of the game, getting lost in the game’s hype. Though I lost interest in the shallow gameplay loop at the time, it appears Hello Games have taken massive strides in creating an experience that aligns closer with players’ initial expectations, and has the potential to pull me back in.
Released on July 24, 2018, the “Next” update will be available across PC, Playstation 4, and Xbox One.
