This week, The Pokemon Company held a surprise live-stream event showcasing 5 brand new games in the Pokemon Series. These experiences range from spinoffs to new core games, so whether you’re a casual or hardcore fan, these announcements should have something for everyone to enjoy.

Pokemon Quest

The first of these announcements is a spinoff title called Pokemon Quest. This is a free-to-start title where you travel across the land of Tumblecube with a team of 3 Pokemon to collect resources, decorate your camp, and even cook to attract new Pokemon to your team. Pokemon Quest is actually out now on Switch, and will also come to mobile devices in late June.

Pokemon: Let’s GO, Pikachu! & Pokemon: Let’s GO, Eevee!

After the initial shock of an unconventional Pokemon game, Pokemon Company confirmed the latest rumors by announcing the Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokemon: Let’s Go, Eevee! Both of these titles borrow mechanics from the Pokemon Go series, allowing players to explore the Kanto region once more, catching the original 151 once again. Not much is known about this game, though the trailer suggests catching Pokemon will be similar to the GO app, Pokemon will appear visible in the overworld, and the game can be played via co-op with a friend to travel Kanto together. The pair of games will release onto Switch late this year on November 16th.

Untitled Pokemon 2019

Of course, if you STILL haven’t had your fill of Pokemon, or for those hardcore fans who are looking for another core Pokemon experience, not to worry. At the end of the live event, The Pokemon Company also revealed they are still working hard on the next core installment of the series, and we can anticipate it to release sometime late 2019.

With the bombardment of announcements this week, it appears there is a lot here for Pokemon fans to be excited about! I’ve been away from the series since the Silver/Gold remakes on DS, but having it on the Switch have me interested to return to the series once again. What do you think of these announcements? Do any of these have you excited to hop back into the world of Pokemon? Let us know in the comments below, or join the discussion at our Facebook and Twitter Pages!
