Though the upcoming Starlink game isn’t the crazy Ubisoft and Nintendo collaboration ideas recently teased, a recent issue of popular gaming publication Famitsu recently revealed it was actually Reggie Fils-Aime who prompted Starlink producer Matthew Rose to present the game to Miyamoto and the Star Fox team. As reported by Siliconera, this highlight can be seen in full below:

During a small-scale closed-doors demo event last year, Reggie was present and happened to see the game. Reggie was the one who noticed the possibilities the game could bring, and invited the Starlink developers to present the game to Miyamoto and the Star Fox development team. This was what led to the collaboration.

I love that Reggie was actually the one who noticed the potential for Star Fox in this game. Considering the phenomenal work Ubisoft did with Mario + Rabbids, it’s no surprise Reggie would feel optimistic to approach the company about another collaboration opportunity. What do you think of collaboration? Are you looking forward to this game? Let us know in the comments below!

Starlink: Battle for Atlas will arrive for all consoles on October 16, 2018.
