When it first released, No Man’s Sky promised many ideas that were left out of the game’s initial release. Since then, the developers at Hello Games have been hard at work to deliver on the creator’s original promises.

The next step in fulfilling these promises was originally teased earlier this year with the upcoming update titled, Next. This update is considered the biggest one for the game so far, and looks to provide players with some of the features they’ve been hoping for since day 1. As mentioned in the original Hello Games announcement:

You’ll be able to explore the universe with your friends, or bump into random travelers. You can help friends to stay alive, or prey on others to survive. Your group can build anything from tiny shelters to complex colonies spanning planets, and everything is shared online for others to visit. Fight as a pirate or a wingman in epic space battles with friends and enemies. Race exocraft across weird alien terrains, creating race tracks or maybe just scenic trails to share online.

Finally! Soon, players will be able to adventure through the cosmos together, battling enemy players, team up with dogfights, or even just explore. Check out a glimpse of the upcoming expansion in the new trailer below:

What do you think of the latest update? Are you looking forward to jumping back into the universe with your friends, or will you pass on this? Based on the updates that have come through since launch, it may be about time for me to explore the universe in the way I originally hoped. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
