As summer comes to a close, Nintendo is already beginning to prepare for the upcoming holiday season. Starting in September, Nintendo will be launching “a series of bundles, controllers and ‘starter pack’ versions of games for Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo 3DS.”

According to Nintendo of America President and COO Reggie Fils-Aime, “We want to give people a variety of options and price points when shopping for themselves or the Nintendo fans in their lives. Whether looking for a portable system for a first-time gamer or a cool controller to play Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Nintendo has great gifts for all ages this holiday season.”

On September 28th, Nintendo will launch a New Nintendo 2DS XL system designed with new colors purple + silver. Of course, the game will come with Mario Kart 7 pre-installed to have you hitting the pavement with speed. In addition, both of the current New Nintendo 2DS XL color schemes (black + turquoise & white + orange) will be upgraded to include Mario Kart 7 pre-installed on the same day as well.

Additionally, Nintendo announced they will also be releasing “starter pack” versions for three of their top-rated Nintendo Switch games in stores. Starting September 28th, these “starter packs” will be available for Splatoon 2, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Super Mario Odyssey, which includes the game itself and a “colorful strategy guide.” These will be available at retail for $59.99 each.

The last bit of news for Nintendo came in the form of a new Super Smash Bros Ultimate Nintendo Switch Pro Controller. The new controller will be sold individually for $74.99, or included in the Super Smash Bros Ultimate bundle, which includes the new Pro Controller, a steel case, and the game itself, running for $139.99. The Pro Controller of course, will launch alongside Super Smash Bros Ultimate when it comes out on December 7th.
