To celebrate the critically-acclaimed reception from the recently launched ninja adventure The Messenger, Sabotage and Devolver Digital have released a short film, mixing live action, animated sprites.
Directed and produced by Imagos Films, Shinobi No Kikan follows the game’s hero as he sets out on his seemingly impossible quest, providing viewers with an abridged version of the game’s story. Since its announcement, The Messenger has garnered attention and awards throughout development and has become “one of the most anticipated indie Nintendo Switch releases of the year.”
The Messenger is a throwback action game heralding the 8-bit and 16-bit glory days in gaming. Players will follow a nameless ninja warrior venturing through a cursed world on a mission to deliver a scroll paramount to his clan’s survival as a demon army besieges his village.
The game is out now on Nintendo Switch and PC.
