During the latest Nintendo Direct, viewers were treated to some great surprises when they saw not one, but two new Luigi’s Mansion titles coming out in the near future.

Though Nintendo had previously announced a Luigi’s Mansion remake for the Nintendo 3DS, additional details were disclosed in the event, including the ability for two players to cooperatively explore and capture ghosts. The new version will also provide amiibo support, providing players the ability of tapping compatible amiibo to reveal hidden Boos, heal Luigi, and other bonuses. The game was originally released on GameCube, and the updated version will release on 3DS on October, 12th.

In case a Luigi’s Mansion remake isn’t enough, Nintendo also revealed a completely brand new adventure is in the works. Luigi’s Mansion 3 takes players inside another spooky mansion as they attempt to capture ghosts with Luigi’s Pultergust series of vacuum-like weapons. The trailer showcased some new moves, such as the Pultergust allowing Luigi to hop over obstacles, updated graphics, and that classic Luigi scream. Luigi’s Mansion 3 is currently in development for Nintendo Switch, and will launch in 2019

I remember loving the original when it was released on the GameCube, so I am definitely looking forward to the latest entry in the series, even though I never played the 3DS sequel. What do you think of the latest announcement? Will you be picking it up when it releases next year?
