[Update 09/14: It’s official! During this week’s Nintendo Direct, Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition is now available to download on Nintendo Switch. We’ve added the Switch launch trailer below for your viewing pleasure.]

Originally released on iOS, Android, and Windows 10 devices, the adorable Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition HD is now available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, with a Nintendo Switch version available soon. Those interested in checking this out can do so at the Microsoft Store and PlayStation Store.

Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition HD is a retelling of it’s older, critically-acclaimed brother, Final Fantasy XV. In the Pocket Edition HD, the game follows the journey of Noctis and pals, Prompto, Ignis, and Gladiolus, all complete with fully voiced scenes at key events, along with “faithfully recreated battles.” All the key moments from the original can be found here as well, like taking long road trips, cooking, and Chocobo riding.

So what do you think of the latest announcement? Is this something you were expecting to hit consoles, or were you like me who thought this would just live on mobile? I do wonder if this was something Nintendo was planning on showcasing in their Nintendo Direct last week. But what do you think? Let us know in the comments below!
